Soft and Chunky is a rustic but soft semi-spun yarn that presents as a super squishy 200g hank. It is a chunky yarn somewhere between a 14 and 16 ply with fantastic meterage – 4 hanks will make a regular jumper, 5 hanks for an oversized/relaxed jumper. Soft and Chunky is available in three beautiful natural shades.

• Composition: 100% Fine Micron NZ Merino Cross and Half Breeds. 
• Yarn Weight: 14-16 ply / Chunky-Super Chunky 
• Ball weight: 200g approximately 
• Yarn length: 140m approximately 
• Gauged as stitches per 10cm:
  8mm for 11sts 
  9mm for 10sts 
  10mm for 9sts 
  12mm for 8sts

Coming to us directly from the farm in New Zealand where it has been processed without the use of harsh chemicals, Sumptuous is a beautiful blend of polwarth and alpaca. The polwarth (the closest cousin to the merino) gives it terrific sheen and drape and a magic springiness on the hook / needles.  

Sumptuous has a magic puff factor that allows the yarn to work flexibly across a variety of needles and patterns. You can experiment with anything from 8ply to 10ply, 4mm to 7mm. Knit fine for stitch definition and richness or go for bigger needles and amazing drape.
